The Little Things

Funny how it often turns out the little things in life seem to be the most enjoyable.  You know, the things that are completely free and require very little planning.  We've had two nights of heavy rain on top of the large amounts of rain we've received in the past couple weeks.  So needless to say, we were going a little stir-crazy inside.  Add to that the fact that my garden seems to be fruitfully growing a plethora of grass, I decided it was time for us to get outside.  So, we tossed out all the rules for the morning.  I let the kids loose in the backyard and told them to splash, roll, and slide to their hearts' content.  (While I tackled the weeds.)  The result was quite a fun filled morning.

School Days

Andrew completed his first year of "school" yesterday.  He's been going to a program one morning a week and I think it's been really good for him.  His teachers were so much fun and he seemed to look forward to going each week.  It was really fun to watch him grow and become a little more confident and outgoing this year.
Here he is on his first day...
And here is our last day...he seems to have lost that toddler look.
While I'm sure we'll miss having that diversion each week, we're excited about enjoying our summer.  We have several trips planned, and I'm sure they'll be lots of days for play-dates and spending time at the pool.

A Year in Review

Yes...I know it's been a LONG time.  I won't offer excuses.  Life is busy, and when it's not busy, I'm lazy.  That's pretty much all there is to it.  I have not forgotten about this little blog though.  It's often in the back of my mind...nagging.  Because you see, this is where I write down what the kids are doing so some day I can look back and remember how cute and sweet they are.  Sad that I've let almost a year pass without taking note of the way they are changing, growing, and all those cute things they say when they're 3 and 1.  Earlier this year I put together a little calendar with pictures from each month of 2012...so, I think I'll post it here that way I can remember what a difference a year makes.
